I am trying to get rid of my shoes and switch to my VFF'S, but having a hard time here in Iowa with the cold weather. Love to talk to people about Barefoot running and to see how they transitioned into it. So I am always looking for more info on Barefoot Running. What an exciting website
Trying to convert over to mininalist shoes

In cnetral MN here. Just bought my Bikilas a few weeks ago and wear them around the house evenings and weekends. Indoor track too when ever possible. It is hard finding the right time (because of tempuratures) and place (wet, slushy roads) to run but hang in there. Good luck

Do you have a website where I could order some of these wool socks?

You can order the Injinji wool socks right on their website at http://www.injinji.com.

You can buy Injinji from Amazon.com, too.

I got my Injinji from Zappos, although mine are just the regular low black ones, not the wool ones.

Penny- I live in SE MN and love my KSOs. That said, we have season of wet, cold & wet, and just plain cold. KSOs just don't have enough insulation from the heat-draining water or the frozen ground.
We use Soft Star shoes or Vivo Barefoot line from Terra Plana. We have made some adaptations to more summer-weather shoes by adding a sheepskin insole but you really need to have some good space in there to start with (up-sized shoes) or have a shoe that is naturally flexible for this. (We've had good success with a pair of RunAmok Lites from Soft Star.)
Try getting some Injinji toe socks. They have some different kinds, including one that is wool based. Wearing these with your VFF's should keep your feet warm enough for running :)
