Neo Trail Press Release

This is a shoe I am VERY excited about! VIVOBAREFOOT has just published the official press release for the Neo Trail, and I like what I see so far. It is attached at the end of this post. I am hoping this may actually be my all-around outdoor trail running/hiking/backpacking shoe.

This also did a video during the product shoot, which I have embedded here. <iframe src="&lt;a href=" http:="" <a="" href="http://player.vimeo.com" rel="nofollow">player.vimeo.com="" video="" 26475410?title="0&byline=0&portrait=0"" rel="nofollow">http://player.vimeo.com/video/26475410?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="380" height="214" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Is there somebody who already owns this shoe and has used it for hiking, backpacking or walking? I am interested in how the shoe performs with all the lugs on the sole. When hiking off-road the lugs will probably perform very well. But how does the shoe perform when hiking has to be done on hard surfaced trails or even roads? I think that on these surfaces the contact area of the soles is less compared to soles with no lugs. I hope someone can share his/hers experience with me.

I recently acquired a pair. I haven't had them out much yet, but a little. The lugs are great for off-road or soft trails. I wouldn't want to wear them for long periods of time on hard-pack surfaces though. I am not as worried about the contact area as I would be about wearing the lugs out too fast.
