Source for hair on sheep skin/shearling?

I know Tandy leather is a source, but the minimums are pretty high for a "first shot" project.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced source of shearling, for some DIY mocs. I've decided that winter is just going to an exercise in futility, trying to find appropriate minimal footwear to buy, so I'm going to DIY.

Thanks! ;)

Not sheerling, but I get cheap rabbit skins from someone who sells rabbits as pet food. Snoop around "raw feeding" groups in your area for rabbit suppliers.

I mention sheep skin on the cheap here:

Forgot to mention price in that post but the whole bag was under $5.

Given your other comments, you will probably have to stitch together a few pieces OR glue some pieces together on a backing. I have a winter boot moc that I'm making now and I'm going to try the glue-to-backing method. I've taped pieces together to match for an even joint and will use some Barge glue/cement to adhere them to canvas.
