Questions & Answers

Hello from Holden, MO!

I have been barefooting for about a year and a half. I live in a small town where barefooting in public is not tolerated, and I am not allowed to barefoot at work. Because of this, I wear minimalist shoes when I can't barefoot. My husband of two years and my friends from work and church are supportive of my barefooting, which is nice, because my family is not. I am proudly on the Board for the Primalfoot Alliance, and am looking forward to the day when we can barefoot in public without being discriminated against!

Welcome! I can't believe the people find barefooting so off-putting. I am sorry that it is so difficult for you where you live, but good on you for sticking-up for what you believe in!

Thank you for your support! I'm very glad there are minimalist shoes out there for these situations so I don't lose the progress I've made in getting healthier feet! :o)

ok cool. small town missouri: I run in VFF, and was out for a run when a "good ole boy" pulled up in his truck asking if i needed a ride. it went like this- "you need a ride somewheres?" "no, i'm good" "what, you runnin' or somepin?" "yeah" "well good luck with that (chuckles)" "thanks, man" he drives off very slowly eyeing me in the mirror and shaking his head.

That sounds about right! I walked into the local gas station, and immediately four people told me I had to leave because I wasn't wearing shoes. The woman that I assume to be the manager said the health inspector told her to put up NSNSNS signs, which I know to be untrue because I checked. I walked in with my VFFs, and there were no problems! A few people even asked me about them...
