Do you use VFF's barefoot or with Injinji socks?

Just curious how many of you run with VFF's over longer distances (at least 6 mile runs) and use them with Injinji socks or sockless?

I got the Bikila's this past summer and thought they were perfect after having built up 2-3 thick calluses to protect my feed from rubbing spots on my Sprints, but after going past 17-18 miles, even the Bikila's cause issues.

Enter a pair of Injinji socks and a new pair of KSO Remixes. I think I can run for hours and hours with no blistering issues, and the stank problem has just about been 100% eliminated. The socks reek, but those go in the wash and come out just fine.

If you do use them sockless, which model(s) and how far to you typically run?

I always use my VFFs with toesocks. I had blister problems in the early days with my first pair of classics. Once I went to toe socks I never looked back. I like to use wool ones to help with the odor even more.

I've only used my KSO Treks for shorter runs (3 miles) without socks, and had no issues. However, i also use them for hiking on extremely technical trails, and have always used Injinji socks for hiking. My hikes are generally 6-8 miles, or longer. Since i only use them for hiking in warm/dry weather, i feel that the socks help absorb the sweat from my feet, and since i only use them for running in colder weather, i don't think the socks are necessary.

I run in Bikala's sockless. Have been using them mostly for my shorter runs but ran a 10k in them this morning with no socks. That is a far cry from 17-18 miles but so far so good.
