This past sumer at OR I snapped a few photos of some boots that caught my eye at the OTZ Shoes booth. What I liked about them is that they looked both stylish and warm - I always have my eye out for zero-drop cold weather footwear. Renee and I have had a couple pairs on test for a few weeks now and while we can't give you an extensive review from such a short time-frame, we certainly can give your our first impressions.
When the shoes arrived, my son was ecstatic (these were his first pair of minimalist tennis shoes). He loved the way they looked; “they are so cool!” He loved the color of the shoe laces. He was slightly disappointed when he first put them on because he said, “I can’t really feel the ground” (he was fully expecting this because of his summer shoes). This was only a slight disappointment that went as soon as it came.
After first discovering the Zhik ZKG at outdoor retailer last summer, the guys at Zhik have been hard at work making some improvements to an already great minimalist water shoe.
I received a new pair of shoes for review this week, just in time for fall and winter: The New Balance MT-110W, a winterized version of the MT-110. I am actually pretty excited about this shoe, here is a short video that explains why...
I'll be honest, when I used to think of performance footwear Skechers wasn't the first brand that came to mind. I previously associated Skechers with casual shoes or heavy sneakers - the type that I haven't worn in years. In early 2012 I started noticing ads and reviews for the Skechers GO line of shoes and started to become intrigued. My interest in Skechers grew even more after reading early previews of the GObionic shoes. From what I had read online, the Skechers GObionic was a light, wide, flexible, low profile, and zero-drop shoe that had a bit of cushioning but still allowed for acceptable ground feel. I was even more intrigued!
