Feelmax Launches the Uura Boot

For the fall of 2014, Feelmax has released a new minimalist boot to their line called the Uura. The Uura is an ankle-high boot with a waterproof membrane, moderately insulated uppers, and a thin layer of insulation under-foot for extra warmth. The uppers are a combination of synthetic mesh and nubuck leather. It features Feelmax's NaturaRun outsole - the same outsole that is found on the Kuuva 3, Vasko, and Osma 3.

As with all Feelmax footwear, the Uura is a true barefoot/minimalist design with a generous foot-shaped last, zero-drop, zero EVA cushioning, and no toe-spring.

While not currently on the main Feelmax website, the Uura can be purchased direct or through Fastway Trading. Stay tuned for upcoming review.

hi there i very much enjoy your web site and now find that my usual vivobarefoot neos are great but in this weather i have very cold feet in them so i need warmer shoes or boot urgently wondering when the uura review is due as if in the next week i might wait but if it'll be few weeks i will have to take a chance between them and others cheers m

majella: It will be a couple of weeks before I post reviews on these. But... for winter, between the Uura and the Kuuva 3 (which I just posted a snippet about today), my personal preference is for the Kuuva 3. I prefer the higher boot for snow/wet conditions. The leather is quite nice too.

thanks for that. life took over along with an unusually dry spell for past few weeks here in ireland. now the rain and cold and damp are back with a vengence and i'm back needing waterproofs. ill mainly be using them to cycle the kids to school and walking in the trails in local woodslands a few times a week with ocasional hikes further afield. any comment on the sizing of the kuuva 3 or uura. im usualy a 51/2 or 6. thanks a million majella

Hey, just wondering if you ever got around to writing up a review on these? Do you find these fit true to size? I'm a 45 in Lems, wondering if I should order these in a 45 as well? Thanks!

Mitch I never did get around to wearing these. Truthfully, the biggest problem with them for me was all of the padding around the ankle. They felt way too puffy/bulky around the ankle and were not particularly comfortable. If you are looking for a high-top style shoe/boot, I would highly recommend the Sole Runner brand, which is what we used for part of our Appalachian Trail thru-hike in 2014.
